About me

My Story

My work as a doula began with assisting family members' homebirths. I attended a CAPPA doula certification workshop in 2012, and continued attending births. I attend hospital and homebirths, medicated, and unmedicated - every birth is unique.

My Philosophy

Some unique experiences that I bring to my doula toolbox: I am an experienced mindfulness teacher, and many families find mindfulness skills to be very valuable in pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I am a wife and mother of three beautiful daughters - two teenagers and a nine year old. I am also an artist if you want to do some creative things during your pregnancy and postpartum. I really enjoy writing your birth story, but I will encourage you to write it from your own perspective as well :)

I understand that an enjoyable pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience is dependent on uniting body and mind. I can provide tools to the mother and family that will help you have the experience that you want. I listen carefully to what the mother wants and support that vision. It is not a doula's place to impose an agenda or lifestyle or spiritual path, just to provide tools that align with what the mother wants.

"I'm so happy and grateful you were there for the most special day of my life. The way you were so attentive was so helpful. And you better believe when we go to have our second hopefully you will be there!"  -- Danielle and Eric
